About Me

Hello, my name is Juan Barriga, and I am the Proud Owner of MiniSuites. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona back in 2020 with a B.S. in Construction Engineering. It was a long four (4) years, but I feel like it was a well invested era in my life. I acquired a lot of knowledge around several facets of both construction and engineering which have both always intrigued me. I was fortunate enough to have done internships throughout my college years. This allowed me to dip my feet into the water and get a grasp of the profession I am going into, which helped tremendously. I highly recommend internships while studying in college, it boosted my resume and made me stand out in front of all of my peers. I also participated in one of the largest student construction competitions in the U.S. as well, which also helped me get really ahead of others. This allowed me to immediately land a position with a large Heavy Civil General Contracting company in the last semester of my undergraduate degree. I have been gaining a lot of technical and project management skills. As a Project Engineer overseeing millions of dollars worth of money in construction operations and dealing with large agencies and clients, I have gotten to learn many key elements such as the importance of communication, delivering a product on time, under budget, and high-end in quality. These past few years of working in the construction industry has made me come to the realization that the cost of living here in Southern California is truly through the roof, and for many of us, it's not affordable. That means two things, downsize in what you can afford, or find the opportunity on your property to make it worth while by adding a MiniSuite. Now, downsizing isn’t so bad because it allows us to trim the fat and get rid of the unnecessary things in life. Let's be honest, being able to create an additional separate room for the fraction of the cost of an actual bedroom is what we should all look into doing more! Why not? It's soon to be a frequent occurrence. It has what you need to remain isolated and mobile, yet still be on your own property. Due to Covid-19, many employers had their employees work from home. Many for a small period of time, and others for either a much longer period of time, or are now permanently working remotely from home. Fact of the matter is that more and more of us are working remotely from our homes and we are finding ourselves spending more time feeling like we are still at work when we are home. Here, our goal is to separate business from pleasure, and gain our space back. MiniSuites are for all ages so Dream Big. The ideas are limitless. (Almost) Anything is possible when it comes to making your MiniSuite, so let’s make it come to life today!
